Today starts Texas Snow Week at Worley Academy. Ever since we went to Iowa in October the boys have been begging for snow. I decided since most kids have today (MLK Day) off from school we’d make our school day a fun one. This also starts the week of our new schedule and it is FULL of adventure and new experiences. Unfortunately, you have to wait to until next week to hear about it
Today I’m going to try to remember all the details of our SUPER fun time at the Sugar Land Skeeters game. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun family night out. The tickets were very affordable and we all had a really good time.
The first thing I loved about the going to Skeeters game was the very easy drive from our house with no traffic. Parking was a cinch and FREE! You walk across a pretty bridge which the boys liked to pretend there were alligators in the water below that might get us if we didn’t run!!! This brings you to the entrance to the ball park which was so pretty. They had this baseball shaped golf cart that the boys had to play in, and get their photo taken.
To make it fun while waiting to go into the game, Seattle Coffee was their with their ‘spin the wheel’ game which the boys LOVE and free coffee samples which Daddy loved. We walked away with about 8 free samples packs of coffee and lots of stickers and tattoos. When we got into the park the boys were really excited. There was every kind of junk food they had hoped for AND a playground and pool! We didn’t plan for the pool which has special tickets, but they were just fine with that. They really enjoyed the playground! I loved that it wasn’t your “normal” playground equipment and they had to think about what they were doing.
We bought our tickets for the hill seating which is the cheapest and in my opinion the most fun. There really isn’t a bad place to sit. The boys enjoyed having the freedom of the picnic blanket and running up the hill, down the hill, over and OVER. My heart skipped a beat every time because at the end of the grass is a concrete sidewalk and benches and I just knew Isaiah was going to crash. He never did, thankfully.
I felt their food was affordable, but we also brought in snacks and they looked the other way. There is also a splash pad that we didn’t plan for, but will next time we go. They had a fantastic fireworks show at the end of the game which we all really enjoyed. Walking back to the car was even more fun in the dark because we reminded the boys of the possibility of alligators in the water. Getting out of the park was almost as easy as getting in which meant nobody was tired and complaining!
I highly recommend this family activity and know that we’ll be heading back again this year. Thank you Sugar Land Skeeters for giving us a fun, affordable family activity! GO SKEETERS!
